WaMu was fully merged into Chase July 26, so not sure why you mention Washington Mutual.
I had an issue with Chase for the last company check I deposited with a teller on 9/26 (a Saturday) and the receipt said that funds from it would not be available until 10/07. Something strange is that their ATM machines were out of order at the time. But I called their hold dept last Friday, and nobody knew why the check was on hold, so they released it.
I tried to use my Chase debit card at Jewel Foods, and when that did not work, my other one (former WaMu replaced with a Chase debit card) and neither card worked (both worked there before). But I went to a Chase ATM next door and was able to use the first card to make a withdrawal. There is plenty of money in both accounts.
So I am not sure what the story is with Chase lately, checks being delayed (might have been Chase network trouble), or debit cards not working certain places (might have been a Jewel Foods issue).
