Which bank is good for the army? ?I will be shipping out to the army in a few months and I need to open a bank account. I dont know much about banks so I was wondering which bank works good with the army. I heard bank of America is kinda good but dont know much. | |
I am a member of Navy Federal Credit Union out of Merrifield, VA.
They are excellent for savings, mortgages and all your banking needs.
They accept all armed forces too. Check them out on the internet.

Bank of America is good for some and not others. Some swear banks like Wells Fargo or Reigions are great it depends on what you want. USAA many love but the problem with that bank is there is no physical branch to go into everything is done online if you qualify or you mail in check deposits. For ATM fees they refund up to $15 each month anything over is out of pocket. Navy Fed (NFCU) is a good credit union they ARE now on AF and Army bases/posts that has been going on for the last few years. You can go to their website to look to at it, they also have branches overseas which some like. You are the one that makes the final decision
USAA is by far the best bank for service members. Many of the bank's employees are retired military and they strive to provide the best service for their customers. Also since USAA doesn't have a store front, you can use any ATM nationwide without having to pay a fee for it not being your bank. You can use your phone to make mobile deposits by simply taking a picture of your check. USAA also has competitive rates for insurance, loans, and savings plans. Needless to say, I am a happy customer.
World bank
Community Bank....They have branches at each post...State side and overseas......and ATMs....which makes it easier if you lose a card, or need to transfer money, etc.....Don't go with Bank America...They are Greedy and are going to start charging when you use your ATM as a Debit..
PS...Problem with the Navy Credit Union ...You don;t find too many of them on an Army Base...
Bank of America SUCKS. USAA is the bank we use, and I will never bank with anyone else. They are friendly, professional, and have excellent service.
USAA. They also have great insurance rates. I'm not sure if it's true for everyone, but most of the people I know, my husband included get paid a day early with USAA.
