I don't know if I should go to Kitty Hawk, Kill Devel Hills, or Hattaris.

Steve in NC

Go to Ocracoke Island! Take the ferry from Hatteras. The beaches on Ocracoke are spectacular. They are part of the national park so they are completely undeveloped and pristine. There are several great places to stay and depending on how long you will be there you may want to look at renting a beach house.

We always stay at Captains Landing Waterfront Hotel Suites

The best hotel was wiped out by a hurricane a few years ago. Several hotels & motels will have both sound & ocean views because parts of the Outer Banks are just wide enough for a vehicle in each direction. Personaly, I prefer Ococoke and Hatteras. Kitty Hawk and Duck are saturated with tourist from New York, New Jersey and Pennslyvania. Rooms fill up fast along the OB.
Before gtting to the OB, the town of Edenton is worth 1 night stay because of the history, so is Manteo. If you go to the OB from the south, the town of Beaufort is worth 1 night stop. Plus it is a 2& 1/2 hour ferry ride to Cedar Point from Ococoke Island then another hour to Beaufort.
