Take a ball and kick it around in the South Bank Parklands; have a barbeque next to Streets Beach and have a swim there; have a squizz at the markets there on the weekend; watch a movie in the ampitheatre; grab an ice cream or get your stash of lollies from the great candy store there; have a wander through the museum or Art Gallery. There's often special attractions and activities on at various times of the year and you can find all the information about dates and times on the link below.
Take a walk around to Riverlife below the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and go kayaking on the river or do some rock climbing (not free).
Head across the bridge to Brisbane City and wander around the mall. There's always something happening there. If your friends are into computer games, spend an hour or two at the Cyber Room (LAN Gaming Centre) at 25 Adelaide Street; or have a game of bowls or pool at the Strike Bowling Bar in the Wintergarden Centre.
Have fun!
