What can i major in to advance my career in banking?

The real question here is what do you want to do? BofA is one of the largest banks in the country. They have jobs in just about any field you could imagine. However, you may be limited by your location -- for BofA, many of the non-customer-facing positions will be in Charlotte, NC and NYC.

If you want to stay in a branch, then marketing may be your best shot and then I'm willing to bet BofA has a branch manager development program you could go into out of school.

Without knowing more about your situation, I would suggest either marketing or business administration -- or possibly some combination of the two depending on what your school offers.

This was an excellent choice to a huge start in a business or finance career. Business would be your major. Classes like economics, finance (the mortgage dept.), personal finance (is perfect) if you stay on track you have the potential for a really high paying career. B of A pays for college don't they? Also you can study stocks or intro to securities.

If you give qualified referrals and toot your own horn about bigger deals you referred it also makes you stick out for a promotion to teller II or sup. Ask clients at the window do you have a mortgage? If yes, what's your rate? then refer. Or any client above 20k in account should be referred to the financial adviser at the branch. You'll go far when you don't just act like a robot that gives people cash. See x-sell potential in every customer.

banking industry has its own education arm ... please ask your manager and/or personnel department.

typically, college graduate jobs are handled by a different personnel office than local clerical jobs.
