VA disablity benefitsfrozen by bank is this illegal?

My wife is disabled from the military and her bank account got fished for $888,888.88 so the bank is closing her account and is not giving her access to her disability check for this month....tried to change banks but VA was not fast enough...is this legal and what do we do?

You need to contact the VA to find out if the check was kicked back to them or if it was deposited into the account before it was closed. If it is with the VA then all you have to do is give them your new information and they'll let you know when to expect the money. If it is with the bank then they should allow you to transfer your money to a new account once they have determined it was fraud. Both possibilities could take awhile and both include a lot of time on the phone. Sorry, it is legal but if you fight hard enough, everything should be back to normal with the VA by next month.

First, get the VA payment transferred to a new account as fast as possible. Then speak to the old bank about the frozen payment.

Get a lawyer, sue them for a few hundred million, I am sick of greedy banks screwing people especially fellow disabled vets.
