The comments made by Condi Rice and Tony Snow in support of the Wolf just made me laugh my heart out. They said that the Wolf's mistakes were not "firable offenses". Putting these notion of "fireable offenses" in the context of banking rules, they seem to imply that if a bank employee had stolen a thousand dollars from the bank, he's not supposed to be fired. Only if he stole a million dollars does the offense qualify as "fireable". What is kind of rule is that?. A thief is still a thief just the same. It doesn't matter how little or how much he'd stolen.
The Wolf's case is no different. No matter how little or how much he had done, it is still against the rules and regulations of the World Bank. It's still blatant corruption, plain and simple.
It's better if Condi Rice and Tony Snow keep their mouths shut on the matter. They've got no right to tell how the World Bank should carry out its internal affairs. Both of them are not in any way connected with the bank.
You won't hear Republicans say anything about their corrupt administration. If it were a Clinton appointee this place would be lit up like a Christmas tree calling for his resignation!
