Should people stop using banks ?

Share |

It seems that everyone is in debt. The people, the companies, the banks and building societies. Who is everyone in debt to ? I vote to start trading in other items of currency between ourselves, and get back to the barter system. I would like my weekly pay in food please - of my choosing - enough to fill...

i'm afraid that's impossible to stop without a revolution....
but it's true that this is a very dangerous time to be in debt to your bank right now. anyone with debt should start selling everything to pay it off. those with mortgages are already lost:

when Queen Elizabeth spoke of the 'darker forces' that exist in power today, she wasn't kidding.

I'm not sure what my cable provider, energy company & landlord would settle for anything other than cash or check.

Doubtful we could work the barter system out > though, I could see alcoholics just wanting to be paid in booze, Sexaholics would want brothel passes. Fitness fanatics > gym memberships. Young people > gasoline, chips & cokes.

Naw, too complicated > we'd all want different things. And good luck paying Inland Revenue with apples & lemonade > they'd just feed it back to you whilst you're serving time in the local lockup.

Sounds great. Maybe you should lead us into a new age where tax is payed with lemonade
