Should I work for Citi as a personal banker or stick with Commerce Bank?

All banks except for the one I currently work for are sales oriented, whereas my bank has so much walk in traffic we do not have "sales goals" in that particular sense of the phrase. I'm kind of half convinced that I will be stressed out and miserable if I take a sales position, but on the other hand I feel that...

Banks in Commerce, OK

I completely agree with maxmom56. I worked in banks for 20 years and always enjoyed it until they became completely sales oriented - as if nothing else mattered! I am so happy to be out of that. You are 100% correct in saying that you will get fired if you don't meet your goals. If you think all the sales focus will create too much stress for you, definitely stay where you are an focus on the management aspect.

Just something for you to consider. Good luck to you.

If you don't like sales, stay where you are and get into the management training. Sales goal pressure is miserable.
