Unfortunately UK money laundering regulations require banks to know who they are giving accounts too.

This page from the Nationwide Building Society says they can accept a letter from the Benefits Agency AND a Council Tax bill http://nationwide.co.uk/savings/noti...

Hi,
Its not possible to open an account without id (Photographic) and proof of address (Within last 3 months Bank Statement, HMRC Etc...)

If you need a card, i suggest a pre-paid mastercard which can be purchased from news agents.

Good Luck!

?

We all have an ID either birth certificate or bills of some sort.

Go into the bank and ask what they might accept in the absence of a passport or licence.

Ellie

Go to the Natwest with birth cert.

what about a birth certificate plus two household bills with your name and address on them ?

you need photographic I.D, and the only ones they accept is a passport or a driving licence
