Is it possible to get into Investment Banking if you did not go to a top notch undergrad school?

Say you don't go to an Ivy or anything but go to a regular state university or a small state university, is it possible to get into investment banking?

I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and know of several people that went to work in Investment Banking. However, all of these people were really smart. They scored in the mid 30s on the ACT, and finished near the top of their class in college. Also, they were very involved in extracurriculars in college (i.e. Presidents of fraternities and sororities, philanthropy organizers, cheerleaders, etc.).

I kept up with a few of these people when they went to work at Goldman Sachs in NYC, and they said that a lot of the people in their start class at work were from Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc.
