So, I need to buy my college books, NOW! Well, I have cash in hand BUT I need to get it into my lafayette account right away, and I need to see it there in available balance. If I deposit it, at the teller that you drive up to, will it be in there right away so I can buy books when I get home? Please...

Ask your bank! Sometimes cash is immediately credited and sometimes it isn't! Sometimes money deposited in a ATM is credited immediately but not with a teller. Go in the bank and tell them what you need.
