Going out in Newcastle UK for Bank Holiday?

Hello,

Myself and lads from Ireland are hitting Newcastle for the August bank holiday weekend.
We were over last year and enjoyed it but mainly stuck to Biggmarket and near the train station.

Any tips on where to go for drinking/grub/ watching football and nice girls?

start off at the pitcher and piano and work your way up to the gate
go to the down to the ouseburn a couple of real ale pubs live bands etc
