I don't understand why the Federal Reserve is such a big issue. If you put money into stocks or real estate, they automatically appreciate to keep up with inflation. Even banks adjust for inflation (Do you REALLY think you would get 5% return on a CD if the currency weren't inflating at 3%)?
The only way you really lose money on inflation is if you put $10,000 in bills under your mattress and leave it there for a decade.
Yes I get that inflation happens, and currency is not based on gold anymore I still haven't figured out why this is such a big deal.
