First, if you cannot afford the items you "need", you need to lower your standard of life instead of charging up a debt. Do you "need" a cell phone or can you get by with a land line (typically a lot cheaper than a cell phone)? Do you "need" internet access at home, or can you get by using the computers at the public library? Do you "need" cable/satellite TV, or can you get by with the local broadcast channels only? Do you "need" to go out with your friends as often as you do, or can you get by with going out less frequently?

Since it got to this point, there is not a whole lot you can do now. You even stated that you thought they were "playing games" when they said they would take you to court. This is the time you should have been working with them to come up with a payment plan you could afford. They are usually much more willign to work with you than take you to court since court cost them time and money.

To use an old cliche" "You made your bed, now you have to sleep in it."

They may suspect you of lying about your income.

You really, really seriously need to get some debt counselling (bankruptcy is not quite as easy an option as some will tell you)

Go to your local credit union - they may not be able to help you directly but they will certainly know where you can get assistance.

Their motive??? To get back the money you owe them. It's not like they are going to forget you owe them money. It is not unusual for a cc company to sell bad debt.

Go to court. Get a lawyer. Good luck.

You ignored them and they had to get you attention one way or another. They are trying to get the money you owe them. And just because they bought th debt doesn't mean you don't owe them the money it makes no difference who now owns the debit you owe it.

PIXIE

you have to go to court either way.
