Why a Bank of Wales never formed?Stands to reason really, why is there a Bank of England, Bank of Scotland, but no Bank of Wales? Are the reasons political? economic? social? I don't know, but hopefully you do... | |

The Commercial Bank of Wales (Banc Masnachol Cymru) was incorporated in 1971. On 14 September 1983 it opened a branch in Carmarthen. It became the Bank of Wales (Banc Cymru) in 1986, and was later bought by the Bank of Scotland.

Wales is just a Glorified county of England. Think like Yorkshire, Wiltshire, Somerset. Only this is one big one. After all the Major Generals of Cromwell's reign all had like seperate countys, North, South East, West Country. One man had Wales. Just one. His name was Barry. Look it up!!!
Wales isn't real. England and Scotland just pretend it is to keep the people living in the area known as Wales happy! So that's why the Bank of Wales was never formed. Look at history... Do you ever hear how the Roman's couldn't invade Wales? No it's Scotland. Wales does not and cannot exist.
"I subsitute your logic, and replace it with my own!"
Because Wales is NOT really a country in the sense that England, Scotland and Ireland are - all these have National Banks.
Possibly because for historic reasons, Wales is classified as part of England for legal and monetary purposes.
There used to be and there are Welsh notes.
I find alot of Scottish notes going around Wales which i think is sort of wierd.
There is a Bank of Wales. Its branches are farms and its currency is the sheep (SHP).
