The only named people who took part were Semyon Ter-Petrossian, known as Kamo and Stepan Shaumian. Stalin was probably not at the robbery, although some accounts do place him there.

Two people are known to have been 'inside men' - providing the information for the robbers: Voznesensky (first name unknown, and Grigori 'Gigo' Kasradze, both of whom appear to have who worked in the bank.

The Okhrana suspected that as many as 60 revolutionaries, from the Bolsheviks, Socialist Revolutionary Party, highwaymen, brigands and bandits were involved in the robbery.
