I would like to nominate the staff in my local supermarket for making you feel guilty for daring to put your shopping on the conveyor belt at their till. Misery oozes out of their every pour. It's not just myself who notices. I almost gave up drinking rather than go in and make one of them work for a living by...

I went on trip to France once and stopped in a shop a Salzburg. The shopkeeper ask, "may I help you?"...I answered "No thank you, I'm just looking right now"....Her response?

"If you want to look, the museums down the street".

This was 15 years ago and one of the only memories I have of my short visit to France as most of my time was spent in Germany. Every since then when someone brings up the stereotype of the French being rude...I know it's true.

Well thatsa little old fashioned me thinks. I mean who finds a checkout job really interesting? I would find it quite boring after a while but customers do pick up on miserable staff..

You pay their wages so while still going to the same supermarket if it bothers you that much why not put yourself in their shoes and give it a try!!!

I have a few. The local subway is now packed with sri lankans ( please note i am sri lankan). He asks me at the start"do you vant bread" in a fresh accent. Of cource i want bread, how else am i gonna eat? then he offers me a free packet of crisps in a deal, he says"freek rips" in a quite voice looking away from me.
I didnt know what he was saying, free ribs? Then i realsied it was free crisps. When paying he would nt give me change, until i asked him.
Its ok if your learning a new language, but how do u work at subway and not know that a SANDWICH NEEDS BREAD!!!
