The Outer Banks are further North on the NC coast. Myrtle Beach is 76 miles SW of Wrightsville Beach and the Outer Banks is over 100 miles NW of Wrightsville Beach. Take US 17 up from Wilmington to US 264 or US 64 then go East til you get to Nags Head.
The Outer Banks stretch roughly from the VA/NC state line south to Cape Hatteras.
