You have a savings account at the old bank? If so it will be way faster to go to that bank a make a withdraw, then take the cash or cashiers check to your new bank for deposit. You will only have to take a parent into the old bank if it requires their signature to take out the money.
The only way you new bank can help if it is a savings is to do a collection. It will take several weeks to get the money for you.
If your old account is a checking account you can either write a check and deposit it into the new account. Or go to the ATM and withdraw cash, and then deposit the cash into you new account.
I suggest that you close the old account, transfer the money tot the new bank, open a new savings attached to your new account. Better to have the money close and available!
