What is the most popular bank with a low-cost checking account in BC?I'll be moving to Vancouver in about two months and will need to open a checking account that is either free or inexpensive (I'm not a student). Is there any bank in BC that would return your ATM fees? I used to have Compass Bank in the states and they were doing it. I would appreciate your help. Thanks! | |
If you are in BC, then Coast Capital Savings offers the "Free chequing, free debit and more account".
This particular bank account allows you free debit card transactions with no minimum balance or monthly fees and all of the bells and whistles:

Have you considered President's Choice? They are part of Loblaws/Real Canadian Superstore (supermarket chain) and offer free chequing accounts. They are linked with CIBC, so you can use any CIBC bank machine without paying fees.
