This is an excellent question. Once you open your account and make all the arrangements, you are very unlikely to leave even if unhappy.

Banks have 2 faces. The behind the scenes procedures and policies & the local branch which is your gateway & guide through this maze.

Take the time to meet the Branch Manager (call and make an appointment) at the nearest branches.Have your business card ready. Treat this as a full business appointment. You are there to make an important business contact. Having a Branch Manager to call when you get the once a year overdraft will save you time, money. Being able to list the Branch Manager on credit applications is also invaluable for a your business' credibility.

Put your question directly to the Manager and write down all his/her points. Ask about fees. Ask about online banking. Ask if you get a free personal checking account as well. Ask when deposits are credited to your account. Cashier checks. Etc etc.

After all your questions have been answered, thank them and let them know what you liked and what may not fit your company. This will give the Manager time to explore other options.

Repeat the process at each branch.

Meanwhile, be asking other businessmen & women where they bank and how they like it. Pay close attention. A Branch Manager may make a great impression and the bank may sound great at the start but unnecessary bureaucracy, rude telephone support or untimely applied transactions can sour the feeling very quickly. Current or former businesses will freely give you this insight.

You will be dealing with this servicer on an almost daily basis. It's best to get it right.

Good luck!
