3) The Miz. I used to hate him as much as the next guy, but he has improved so much over the last 5 years that it's unbelievable. I'm now a huge fan of the Miz, and getting to see him shut up all the haters and win the WWE Championship was cool.
2) RVD, I loved the fact that he cashed it in by making the match in advance and having it at ONS 2006. He's the guy that convinced Vince to put on the first One Night Stand, but then got injured before the event so he couldn't compete. The hostile environment for Cena also made it one of the most unique and memorable title matches in the last decade.
1) Edge, he was a guy that had paid his dues, and taken the slow build to the top of the card. He's held on to it so long that people forgot about it. Nowadays, whenever we see the champion down, we expect someone to cash in MITB, at the time it was at the back of our minds. Combine that with the fact that he was already on the card (where I believe he lost the Intercontinental Championship) and nobody had any idea it was coming.
Oh, and the celebration the next night was pretty solid too!!!
-I believe Jeff Hardy was supposed to win the 2008 or 2009 MITB before getting suspended. If I could change any, I'd say CM Punk in 2009. Christian had returned a couple of weeks before and this would have been the start of a great push for him. On the other side though, Punk's win in '09 lead to his awesome heel run and feud with Jeff Hardy. I'd have said Kennedy, but he was the right person to win, he was just injury prone. Also, they should have pushed Swagger better when he won. He could be a main eventer in my opinion.
