check out the pawn shops in your area. then check out your local music stores. if you want a guitar based on it's name then you don't really want a guitar to play, you want it to impress your friends. if you truly want to play a guitar to play you need to judge them by the way they sound, not their name. if you absolutely have to order one online and can't go to the pawn shop or music store then check out musiciansfriend.com. i have ordered stuff from them for over 20 years and i've never been disappointed. if you see a guitar you like online do a youtube search for it and it will give you an idea of how it sounds. good luck with your search and happy early birthday.

one way to save money is to buy off brand, epiphone instead of gibson, squier instead of fender, like that. also, go to a guitar center, don't order it. guitar center has great selection and you need to see the guitar to know its good
