Definitely look for another job in Glendale. I know that BofA has a major banking center in Glendale.
As for other options, I thought MM had some good suggestions. I thought that taking a train from Glendale or Burbank into Union Station, then Red Line to 7th, Blue line to the Green Line Transfer station, then the Green Line to the airport area might do it as well.
That is just a crazy commute, especially in that car.
I would suggest she either move, or even better, change jobs. They have banks in B/G, too.
Short of that, check out MTA.net for bus/metrolink. There's also a flyway bus, either from Van Nuys or Union Station.

i drive from LA to Ontario everyday twice once in the morning and once in the afternoon I drive a nissan altima 06 with a four banger engine and i only spend between 200-300 a month and i drive all through the day i know your cousin just parks her car and goes to work. she might want to switch to a more fuel efficent car that will help!!!
I am not sure if this is possible but I used to live in that area have her check and see if the Metrolink (train) is available where she is going.
Traffic is one of the reasons I moved out of the state!
