You'd have to define what you're needing in a bank, more specifically. You mentioned needing international locations - but what about cost of banking? Savings account rates? Do you incur NSF fees often - will you need some kind of protection against returned checks? Do you make ATM withdrawls a lot, or maybe make international purchases?

Honestly, I'd say just about any bank is just as good as the next one... there's hardly a discernable difference in their interest rates, and if it's the fees you're concerned about, then simply be sure to ask/read the fine print about every fee you might encounter - my biggest is ATM fees. If I simply check my balance using an out-of-network ATM, then my bank charges me 50 cents. There's a surprise for ya! Now that I know about that fee, I check my balance online often, and if I need to know it while standing at an ATM, I just use my cell phone to check the balance... it avoids that fee.

It really doesn't matter that much as long as your money is FDIC protected.
