Beats me. The OBX is nothing but sand and mosquitoes. That's what we like to say so more people won't come down and spoil it for us. I first discovered the OBX in 1976 and have been coming down almost every summer since. The place is unique in the truest since of the word. I consider the real OBX to be Hatteras Island and Ocracoke. Most of the barrier islands known as the OBX is only a half mile wide and 90 percent of it is owned by us - the government, the Cape Hatteras National Seashore so it's not developed and never will be. It's unspoiled seashore wilderness. If that's what you want to see then this is the place to see it. Fishing and a beach where you can steak out your spot and not have anyone within 50 feet of your blanket are the biggest draws. Try doing that at Wildwood. lol Be sure to climb the Cape Hatteras lighthouse, you're 25 miles off the mainland and you can see just how narrow and fragile the Outer Banks are. Come on down. You're welcome. I don't tell just everyone. ;)
