The Outer Banks NC?????

I'm going to the Outer Banks this summer and I remember going 5 years ago and being bored. What are some fun things to do there?

Answer (3):

13thRowPyro

Climbing the Currituck (Corolla) lighthouse.

Exploring the lighthouses all the way down the islands from the NC/VA border to Cape Lookout (the most in any state other than Michigan)

Exploring the Wright Bros Museum/Memorial

Restaurant w/cool bands playing near the waterfront in Nags Head

Hang gliding at Jockey's Ridge state park
or climbing the dune & sliding back down

Flying kites-you rediscover your hidden child

Going to the acquarium

The Queen Elizabeth in Manteo

Taking the ferry to Ocracoke

Windsurfing

Exploring the waterfront theater for The Lost Colony
&/or actually seeing The Lost Colony

Outlet shopping, souvenir shopping

Hunting for shells-some only found on NC outer banks

Hundreds of Photo Ops w/general sightseeing

The wild horses on north Currituck

Music festivals in Duck

The key is to base it in one hotel & then take day trips up north & down south to explore the whole chain

Get involved in pirate lore or all the shipwrecks (graveyard of the atlantic)

I am 13 and I love going to the outer banks! but i think i would be bored too but the only reason im not bored is because i always bring a friend with me. consider that with your parents

The Wormist

take a surf fishing rod with you or borrow one from a neighbor and go fishing. some of the best shore fishing in the world right there. or maybe hunt for gold and artifacts from shipwrecks with a metal detector. okay, perfect. he probably already has the surf rod. or tell him to buy you one. AND the metal detector.
