1st, Which part of banking did the Feds mess up?
They deregulated securities with the GLB, repealed aspects of banking regulation section Q of the Glass Steagall, and didn't enforce many rules on banks at the fed level, and the Supreme Court supported a decision not to enforce federal law on them. So are you suggesting that they should have done more? Obviously not! Let's not forget when the Feds started regulating banking back in 1933, it had primarily collapse all by itself. And in the 80's Reagan made sure the S&L's fell down through regulation.
Or perhaps you want a grocery analogy...
Imagine a grocery manager who decides to bet profits on a gamble...
The gamble works for a year, long enough for a 100 million dollar bonus...
But the bet was actually bad and the grocery store lost everything...
Eventually it has to closes...
During the debacle food prices soared...
So conservatives said, I know the answer, it's not regulation but less taxes...
Now the new grocery store only wants to sell food to fat people...
As they figured out the fat people eat more, but skinny people and kids aren't in their plans...
Over a few years 35 million begin to starve...
So conservatives then say, I have an answer, let's have tort reform, so you can't sue the grocery store and that will boost savings...
The new grocery store posts records profits but prices rise more than anywhere else...
So finally the city orders the grocery store to sell to the skinny starving children...
Then you blame the govt for mismanging the system before they start!
Is that about right?
2nd, Civilian companies have mismanged equally as bad...Enron, Madoff, insurance companies simply won't insure the sick, healthcare companies deliberatly overcharge, private colleges serve only the interests of the rich, and banks created truncated investment portfolios (look that one up). See it's so easy to just say it all sucks.
And what perspective would that be? No over sight or that the free market will police itself.
It is long past time to face the facts that given the opportunity to gouge the public they will.
Why can't people put the role of government in perspective?, a better question would be, Why does it
seem that the government works for business and not for the public. If it can work for some then it is a deliberate choice being made by some to block others.
We the people need to stop handing OUR POWER over to OUR Elected EMPLOYEES!
Never in my 50 years have I seen an employee run the boss.
The Government belongs to We The People. WE are the ONLY ones with POWER.
If we give the Government control of our Health Care, we are giving strangers control of life and death issues.
Look at your children. Who do you want making decisions on their health?
You? Or someone who will never see you or your child? Someone to who you are just a name on a paper?
Our Country is in trouble because the GOVERNMENT ran it into the ground!
We are in Financial trouble because the Government mismanages itself.
We should not give them a job bigger than they can handle.
Look at Medicaid! Look at Medicare!
This is but a small segment of Americana's using Government Health Care and they are bankrupt through mismanagement.

Next shoe to drop will be the government taking over your 401K accounts when you retire.
So many people cash out their 401K's and spend the money unwisely that plans are being made to force you to buy expensive annuities that will hand you a monthly check.
Things are about to get worse - much worse.
