Someone opened a bank account in my name...?

A relative of mine opened a First Premier bank account in my name, but we have had a falling out. Is it a way I can get that bank account in my name closed without the hassle of having to potentially take my nutty relative to court for identity fraud?

If it is in your name alone OR if your name and that of the relative, you can legally withdraw the money and close the account.

I thought i understood the question but the after comments make no sense - is this a BANK LOAN opened in your name?

They couldn't have opened it in your name unless you gave them your social security #. So therefore you committed fraud & are obligated for the debt. You have a problem if this is the case.

You can show the bank your identification, and possibly get your relative removed as an authorized user of the account. If the account has a negative balance, you might need to take legal action so you are not held liable to pay it.

was it YOUR money ?

If it is actually in your name you could withdraw all the money.
