Should we boycott Barclay's bank for supporting Mugabe's regime?

And while we're about it boycott Yahoo (ahem!), Google, Cisco and Microsoft for supporting Chinese repression? And Nestle for their policies in the 3rd world?

Ideally yes, but most big companies are dodgy to some extent. I'm vegan and boycott most of the big companies who make household and cosmetic products as they test on animals, but these big companies are also the ones that can afford advertizing and are the well known names so the boycotts need to be on a larger scale than they are.

It's hard to boycott all dodgy companies, but anything helps. There's a petition on the internet about Barclay's and their involvement with Mugabe's regime is quite well reported, so hopefully something will happen. It's a shame that so many people don't give a toss though.

Nestle DOESN"T make the best chocolate - it's full of sugar and vegetable fat and not much cocoa. Same goes for Cadbury's and I have nothing against them as they have some moral integrity! MONTEZUMAS make the best chocolate, though if that's too expensive supermarket own brands are better too!

And boycotting companies is a capitalist free market right!

I don't see how a boycott on such large companies would make a difference. Their policies aren't always the best but a boycott wouldn't do much to stop them.

You need money in the bank to make a boycott work. N.E.S.T.L.E.S nestles makes the very best chocolate. How would you boycott google?

Barclays supported apartheid in South Africa--understanding Capitilism would help you--money is the only sacred cow.

No, that's why I opened an account with Barclay's, and that's why I use Yahoo!
