No bank account, is that ok?

Hi, I am an American citizen married to a british citizen. We have been married over 4 years but he is living in UK and I am in USA. I am applying for UK Spouse Visa. My husband is full time employed, pays taxes, accomodates himself, pays for all his living expenses and can prove all this. The only thing...

The only stumbling block may be proving that you can support yourselves and any dependents without help from public funds.

You say have a UK bank account, so I would ensure that there are some savings in that account and include copies of statements with your application. Cash savings in an overseas account also count. So if you have a US account, you can use the money in that as well. That should cover you.

As an indication, skilled workers applying for a work permit must have £2,800 in their account for at least three months before they apply.

EDIT Just found this, see link below.

They might have changed the rules since I lived there. I am American also married to a Brit. When I moved there, all he had to do was prove his living arrangements (as in, does he have a place for you) and his income. I don't think they ever asked for any bank account numbers at all.

Good luck! red tape sucks!
