My friend is being charged with bank robbery in lancaster county PA?

his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems...

You look at worst case scenarios first not after, time served will count towards the time he gets.

If a person is convicted of a bank robbery the average sentence is 13 year.

ask the public defender what the guidelines are. its a federal case, so whatever they sentence him to he's going to have to do at least 90% of the time. subtract time served, and a little more for good behavior, and most probably he can join some classes that will help bring his time down as well

How many times are you going to post this question. Your friend is going to do time and those are the facts. Years and not months if he is convicted, part of mandatory sentencing. you should be making some other plans like what you are going to do with your life.

Well, obviously you and John D are simply unable to think of any other question just to see how many "stupid" answers you get (as you told me). So here's another stupid answer to your ficticous question: WHO CARES ANYMORE?? Jeez, what a lonely person you must be, doing this since December 2005.
Another seriously stupid answer for you, radley.

I hope you and your friend both get 9-16 years.

it is called plea bargaining.

the district attorney is not very confident in his evidence and is willing to accept a lower sentence in exchange for a guilty plea

your friend should be facing a minimium of seven years for this crime

he is quite lucky to be offered this short sentence

Thats against the law he has 72 hours to be arighned

Same question, different day. I think he should spend a few years in jail.
