Rive gauche = left bank - part of Paris which is south of the Seine
Rive droite = right bank - part of Paris which is north of the river
Le Louvre, Champs Elysées are north (above) the Seine, and are in the right bank
Tour Eiffel is in the rive gauche - to the south of the river

The arrow just points to the location of the flat being advertised on this website. It is not a tourist attraction. I just thought it was a good little map to illustrate the different areas and the main tourist attractions.

Eanne is right.
My own take is, look towards the sea (west), or go down the river, and then it is your right and your left.
