Is it okay to give a catalog of my business to the bank teller, cash register checker, postal man while they're on the job?

No it is not, however, if they ask you for one then it's OK. I have had that asked of me and I will give them a business card and ask them to contact me when they are available. I run a children's entertainment business and sometimes they see me in costume or in the bank where I have my business account I will get asked. Otherwise, I don't do it at all.

If you are in a bank or store, you are soliciting when you should not be. It's rude. As for the post man, if he is on your property, you could. Doesn't mean they will want to take it. They are busy and have a schedule to keep. In that case, it is rude because you are interfering with their route.

That is what you call soliciting. Be prepared for rude confrontations from the managers. If you want your catalogues there, ask from the managers first if you could get them to distribute your catalogues for their customers. If they like what you're promoting, they'll agree to it.
