You are confusing fiction books and a movie (The Town) with reality.
The Charlestown section of Boston is not the capitol of bank or armoured car robberies. In fact it has the lowest crime rate than other parts of Boston.
Neither the FBI or Boston police believe the movie info is true either.
BTW The state of California with 805 bank robberies followed by Texas with 464 are int eh top ten bank robbery states but Mass does not even make the top ten.
