I was a teller for a year at BofA.
let me tell you that I ran away from this people! OMG!
what a disaster!, however, depends where is located.
I, unfortunately live in Miami and people here are just uneducated. I have a friend that is a teller in Jacksonville and she loves their managers.
Miami managers are just LOW uneducated people that only care that you sale services and cards, and debit, savings accounts, etc. all at the same time when you are attending a client, and most of the time an angry customer that does not want to hear your offerings. not to mention that your wage is a joke.... so for me it was not worth it.

Anyways, teller job is very stressful, you deal with tons of money, checks, transfer, changes, vault accountability, deposits and withdrawals from accounts (including cashing checks), loan payments, safe deposit box payments, and others. etc etc, and there's a lot of money laundering around... that is the scary part.
if you happen to cash a check that is related to a suspicions account, you are all set! FBI will investigate you.
you have to be very alert, there is a lot of cons that go to the tellers to distract you, and if you loose money you have to repay.
at the same time its interesting, you get to know the bank system and make some friends that usually go to the bank.
but as I said depends where you live. Up north, boston, NY, Vermont I know for another teller is good....
