Do you have to go to an ivy league as an undergrad to become an analyst, then after few years go to another ivy league school for your MBA? Or can you go to just a top tier school atleast, not including ivies, to become one?

Nope, definitely don't need to go to an Ivy. My friends who got jobs in i-banking (at the big 4) went to Franklin & Marshall, Amherst, and Babson.
Usually if you get a job at a bank you will work there for a couple years, then they will send you to business school.
The chairman and CEO of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc went to Boston College.
The managing director and co-founder of Golenberg & Company went to Miami University of Ohio
The chairman of Allen & Company went to Creighton University
A Goldman Sachs partner went to Penn State--so did the President and CEO of Nike
Another important CEO went to Middlebury.
CEO of Lucent Technologies went to Georgetown
Past CEO of Lehman went to Northwestern; anothner former CEO of Lehman went to William and Mary

So. Going to one of the top 100 schools in the country IS important--top tier, not second or third. But it doesn't have to be an Ivy.

No need to go to an ivy. In fact not absolutely necessary to go to a top tier. If you are really good at what you are doing, this will get you noticed.
