I wrote a check out to give my truck payment as usual, and i was charged twice! my bank tells me to call them?

and i did, they say they couldn't have possibly, the bank says i would have to fill out a dispute form, but i think it's the banks fault. why would they pay again for the SAME check?? and why can't they just correct it? I need to go out of town and have stuff to fix on my truck still. after charging me...

Sounds like the place converted your paper check to an EFT and hit it twice. NACHA rules require the bank to resolve a disputed transaction, but you do have to do some work. They SHOULD be able to see that the item is a duplicate and SHOULD reverse the one transaction pending investigation. I would also be following up with the car place letting them know that two transactions hit from them so they can withdraw the duplicate. If you are expecting this to all happen in a couple of hours, it probably won't.

Sign up for online banking so you can see the payment. Stuff happens, it shouldnt but it does.
