I wana start a bank?

Why do you want to start a bank? You'll need a track record of doing well first. I'm working for an investment bank nowadays and have been aspiring to move up into management roles.

I had the same idea the other day and heard about Second Life. Yes, it's a game but there are even banks started up by complete strangers. Maybe you might want to test your management skills there first. Be careful, there is no FDIC, or SEC there to regulate financial institutions. Also, please read the case on Ginko Financial, they had a virtual bank run just recently.

I know of a little bank for sale for $3-$4 million. That's about the entry point in any case whether you buy a shell of a small bank or start your own from scratch. In any event, you'll need to be approved by bank regulators so you'll need experience, credentials, and at a minimum the ability to write in decent English. This assumes you're in the U.S.

First you need a lot of money, millions. If you don't have that, then try starting a little smaller, a loan company, since many banks start off that way. But the first thing you need is money.

The least expensive way to go about starting a bank would be to set one up off-shore first, this will make business a little more difficult but if you are honest it will be a far less difficult path to your goal.

It's a great ambition...but very few attain it in life! where do you want to start? Which kind of banking system? who are the target group? How much minimum capital do you have? Which kind of company do you intend to go for, sole, part, ltd or plc?
