Does his bank happen to have branches where you are? If so, just walk in and deposit straight to his account at a branch. One of the few advantages of huge banks in multiple states.

You can mail it regular mail to the bank's "bank by mail" address or to a branch if you call one and get someone to attn it to so they can expect it. No cash of course.

Banks can't just transfer it to a different bank. They have to wire it and that will cost you the same as the services you want to avoid.

They can do a wire transfer, but there are fees for that, too. What's wrong with a check in the mail?

yes, very easy, you just need his account number and bank code (if he has one)

if you have online banking, you can probably process it yourself, otherwise, go into your bank with the info and some ID and they'll sort it out for you, should be free.

Do you both have credit unions? Many credit unions do shared credit union branching.

Try inquiring first if they have that.

Why aren't you raising this question directly with your bank?
