I live in Montgomery County,MD..any suggestion on good bank to set up acct for debit card etc..for a teenager?my current bank is chevy chase...lots of atms but not very good interms of service for bank/debit card for students who don't always have a high balance...I was looking at Bank of America and Wachovia but will consider any...thanks | |
Try USAA bank. I love this bank because you can regulate your childrens prevlidges online. Just click a button and they loose access, this is a lot better than waiting for a representative for an hour on the phone. This bank is very good with customer service and you get all atm and western union fees back at the end of the month. I have 2 checking accounts and a savings account for each one of my kids. If you need money fast you can transfer from a credit or debit card into your account in seconds, this will be very useful if your child needs cash immediatley. I hope this helps!!

Take a look at visa buxx accounts - many banks offer them and they're designed for teens. These accounts give parents visibility and some amount of control over the teens spending and allows you to send money to them in a hurry.
