2nd National Bank of the US
Andrew Jackson

Answer (1):

Agent 99

Democrat Andrew Jackson did destroy the 2nd National Bank, because he thought Congress was not regulating it enough and it represented the wealthy having control over all the money. On September 10, 1833, he took out the currencies and spread it across 33 states to "pet banks" and foreign investments plummeted as a result. The charter for the 2nd national bank ran out in 1836.

It would have kept all the currency in one place, not in different states where the money could be manipulated or siphoned. It would have helped the American economy grow and materialize.
