I can't set up internet banking on my computer using Windows Vista. Are there settings I should change?

Not sure if I should change the computer's Security settings, or in the Norton Anti virus section. Has anyone had this happen before? The banking login page simply does not load properly.

A couple of things come to mind:
Using IE8 may require have the 'Compatibility View' to be enabled.
If the site is not conforming to IE8's "configurations", a small 'broken' box will appear in the address bar; click that & set to 'view in compatability mode' .
Another possible issue would be cookies. Set the browser to accept the cookies from your bank:
Allowing site specific cookies:

Firefox: go to the site first & 'copy' the URL, then> Tools> Options> Content: here, check 'block pop ups', then tick 'exceptions'> (enter the URL needed for permission) > 'Allow' > OK out.

IE: Go to the site first> Tools> Internet options> Security> tick the 'Trusted' icon> Sites> Add> ok> out
Note this setting may permit undesirable 'Active scripting' or other server based action: use with caution, especially if you have 'Active content' allowed.

Supplemental blockers, in browsers mainly, may have to be muted, or 'site allowed'.
"NoScript' users will have to "temporarily allow....." from the blue 'S' tray icon.

No need to relax any other cookie settings (which help deter junk ads, pop-ups', malware etc.):
FIREFOX: Tools> Options> Privacy: Check 'Accept Cookies from sites'
& **Un-Check 'Accept 3rd Party cookies'**
INTERNET EXPLORER: Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced:
here check 'Override automatic....'; 'Allow session cookies'; 'Allow 1st party cookies' & **'Block 3rd Party Cookies'**.

IE 8:
Go to the site needing approval & copy the URL from address bar, then:
Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Sites> paste that URL into top line> Allow> OK> OK.
The "Pop-up Blocker" may also need to be modified to accommodate the site.
Tools> Internet Options> Pop up blocker heading> Settings> again, paste that URL into the slot> Close> OK.

General cookie settings should be:
Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced: tick "Override..."; Allow 1st party cookies; Allow session Cookies & BLOCK 3rd Party cookies> OK> OK.

Hi Yes you can use Internet bank on your computer, but first you need to go to your bank to get your login # and a temporary password which you can change later to one that suits you. There is no need to change
any settings on your computer, Good Luck johnsvolt
