How do you solve a Bank Turns question ...?

I'm looking for the max velocity, but I don't have the mass. I do have the radius, angle, and coefficient of friction though

Banks in Batesville, IN

Answer (1):

Seamus O

You don't need the mass b/c it cancels out when you write the equation for resultant force

if there is no friction check this:

or if there is friction check this:

both show how to derive the equation for finding the maximum velocity

EDIT:

ooooooopps ... they HAVE given the coefficient of friction ... forgot they said that when I looked for the websites ... so I guess you'll be wanting the second website
