Someone I know claims to have a check drawn on the Bank of Ireland from the USA. The check was sent via UPS from Monroe City, MI to Istanbul, Turkey. I guess I am asking is how do you check up on the legitimacy of a check drawn on the Bank of Ireland. I have already contacted the real Bank of Ireland. I have...

Bank of Ireland did indeed have branches in the US.

However people have tried to defraud us a few times with sending cheques by courier unexpectedly. I think you're wise to wait for the bank to confirm it.
