If the check is cleared by your bank the other party would not receive any notification that the check caused an overdraft, as they are paid.

No they just charge you NSF fee of, maybe $40 and they also charge the one who deposited NSF check $40 .So both of you will pay penalty of $40 unless you deposit money or have overdraft protection of $1500 and amount of check is less than that . Or you cancel check before he tries to cash it for a fee of maybe $20 ...but he will still have to pay $40 I believe .
