Bank Freedom is actually a prepaid MasterCard, similar to the Rush Card or Green Dot Card. It is not a credit card but a reloadable Mastercard, basically it gives you the freedom of having to carry no cash. You can use it as a Debit card or Credit Card. There are certain restrictions like you can't overdraw your account.
Really depends on what your intentions are when signing up for this card. If you are looking to establish or re-establish credit then I recommend opening an account w/ a bank or credit union. If you have bad credit or want to know that you cannot o/d your account then this may be the way to go. But keep in mind you can also take off the overdraft indicator or overdraft matrix w/ a regular bank account as well.

You are essentially giving that company a interest-free loan. They're holding your money hostage. Can you not open a regular bank account and get a visa or mastercard debit cards? Are you trying to build a credit history? If so, talk with the bank you normally bank with about getting something like a $300 limit card that you'd use for small purchases and pay in full each month. I haven't heard that Bank Freedom is a scam, but I just have a bad feeling about them.
