Do banks/credit unions keep deposit slips?

Share |

I made a cash deposit and the teller shorted me $10, I know its not much but its more than I can afford to spare and I don't have anything else to really prove her mistake. So, I'm just wondering if this is going to be an impossible fight for $10.

ALL

Banks/credit unions are usually very careful about checking tellers overages/shorts.
Yes they keep most documents. (perhaps copy them electronically)

At the end of the day, if there is a variance, they will likely try to find it by reviewing their documents.
Sometimes, if they just hand out too much or too little money the documents won't help.

But, if you were shorted $10, it can't hurt to contact them. They should know if that teller was over by $10.
Maybe you'll get lucky and that's what happened.

Banks frown upon teller's variances and if your case helps them clear up a variance, they would actually be happy to hear from you.

good luck
