If your card is a normal VISA debit or credit card with a 4 digit pin you should not have a problem.

Call the customer service number on your card and ask them. You should also let them know the dates you will be in Peru, so they won't think your card was stolen and block usage.
if the debit card has the visa logo you should be able to use it. but beware of the fees! bank of america charges me 5 us$, and do not forget to call your bank to mention that you are going to use it outside your native country
